American Girl doll eyes and open and close with external lashes. Even when she’s lying down, her eyes remain open. And, unlike the AG dolls, Heather’s head can tilt upwards and downwards. She can turn her head around to look at things next to her. Her beautiful brown eyes are inset with no external lashes. Her head is set at a permanent tilt, which makes her look charming and inquisitive. Heather has peachy face paint with feathered eyebrows and painted lashes. Heather and Marie-Grace are equally beautiful, but don’t look alike at all.

The most obvious difference is their faces.

I’ll be comparing Heather (left) and Marie-Grace (right). In fact, they cannot comfortably wear each other’s clothes and shoes, which was a complete surprise to me. Anatomically they are not similar at all. The dolls are similar in concept, and are both about 18 inches tall, but that’s about it. Most of the MAC’s collection skewed to modern clothing and accessories, which, at the time of the MAC’s debut in 1994, American Girl did not offer. The Magic Attic Club dolls were introduced in 1994 as a slightly more inexpensive doll for children who weren’t as interested in history as much as fantasy.
